Junior Races – U23’s
White Hope Sprint: A thrilling sprint race over 3 laps for amateur riders from the UK and Europe. Being timed only over the last 200 metres, the first 1 1/2 laps can be quite tactical before the final sprint for the line.
Rising Stars Keirin: Unique to The Good Friday Meeting this race is over 5 laps instead of the usual 8. This creates an exciting fast moving race which is controlled for the first 2 1/2 laps before the riders are released to battle it out for the finish.
Open Races – Amateurs vs Professionals
Open International Sprint: An exciting sprint competition featuring leading British amateur and professional riders competing against their foreign counterparts.
Open Keirin: Similar to the Rising Stars Keirin, this race is for leading UK and foreign sprint riders.
Open Female Races: Some of the best female racers competing against each other.
Golden Wheel Scratch: All the endurance riders will compete in qualifyingheats for this intense and exciting endurance race, which is the grand finale of the day.
Invitation Races: Elite Derny-Paced Race: 50 laps with each rider being individually paced by his own pacemaker. The ultimate in teamwork between pacer and rider resulting in an exciting and fast endurance race which never fails to enthrall the watching fans.
